Dentistry with a functional approach

Optimising breathing, removing compensations and creating healthy smiles

Dr Aoife Stack BDS Hons

Dr Aoife StackDr Aoife Stack is a UK-based general dentist with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from University College Cork. She has a strong clinical interest in tongue tie, oral function, breathing, snoring and early interceptive dental care, working within the scope of general dentistry.

During her undergraduate training, Dr Stack received awards for both clinical excellence and academic research. She has completed extensive postgraduate education, including postgraduate certificates and diplomas in Primary Dental Care and Orthodontics, supporting her work in growth, development and functional dental care.

Dr Stack provides comprehensive tongue-tie assessment and functional frenuloplasty using a CO₂ laser for babies, children and adults. Her approach integrates oral anatomy, tongue posture, muscle function and breathing patterns, and she works closely with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, myofunctional therapists, lactation consultants and bodyworkers to deliver coordinated care.

She offers snoring assessments and dental-led snoring treatments, including NightLase laser therapy and mandibular advancement appliances, where appropriate. These treatments are aimed at improving airway stability and sleep quality following careful assessment and referral when indicated.

Dr Stack has undertaken advanced training in dental sleep medicine and airway-focused dental care. She previously sat on the board of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine for five years and remains actively involved in professional education and collaboration in this field.

In orthodontic care, Dr Stack applies early interceptive principles and provides removable and aligner-based treatment options. She is certified in Myobrace and MyoMunchee systems and offers clear aligner treatment using Angel Aligner and Smartee, focusing on function, stability and long-term oral health rather than cosmetic alignment alone.

Dr Stack is an Ambassador for The Breathe Institute in California and co-founded the Airway School in 2024, an educational and collaborative platform dedicated to breathing, oral function and airway health.

She currently practices in London and Kent, providing patient-centred care for children and adults with a focus on function, breathing and long-term wellbeing.
