This online consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns in detail, whether for yourself or your child. Dr Aoife will take a thorough history and explore any current symptoms. Photographs or short recorded videos can be reviewed during the call to support the discussion where helpful.

Following the consultation, Dr Aoife will advise on the most appropriate next steps. This may include reassurance and guidance, a recommendation to see a relevant colleague, or arranging an in-person appointment for clinical assessment at one of her practices.

A follow-up letter will be provided after the call, summarising the discussion and clearly setting out any recommended actions.

This online consultation is for patients who have been referred by a myofunctional therapist for tongue tie assessment. Prior to the call, the referral information will be reviewed in detail.

During the consultation, readiness for treatment will be assessed through a live video examination. Good lighting, a stable internet connection, and clear video quality are essential to allow an accurate assessment. Guidance on positioning may be given during the call.

We will then discuss the proposed procedure, expected outcomes, potential risks, and the recommended aftercare and follow-up process. If proceeding, a consent form and post-operative information sheet will be provided following the consultation.

The aim of this call is to ensure the assessment is thorough and that you feel fully informed before any treatment is undertaken.
